The sea is rough on the southern shore of Harakka, while a motionless cover of snow and ice hides the water towards the mainland. The path feels steady, today there was not even water on top of the ice near the shore. On the roofs of the ammunition cellars and on the slopes of the fortifications you can see parches of soil. Everywhere else the snow covers all and it feels like a along way to spring. The wind howling and whistling in the bare trees freezes what the sun wams up. If I were a juniper, half covered by hard snow drifts, I would be worried by now.
