Ympäristötaidetta ja reviiritaisteluja - Environmental Art and Territorial Fights

Tänä sunnuntaina saari on autio. Osa lokeista on kovahermoisia. Onneksi huivi on helppo puhdistaa.

This Sunday the island is deserted. Surprisingly not even the exhibition Stories from the Baltic Sea by students of environmental art has tempted more people to come an visit the island. Works can be found in the telegraph, in ammunition cellar no 4 and as posters all over the island. storiesfromthebalticsea.org/  Silence reins in the exhibitions spaces and inside the art house, though on the cliffs there is hustle and bustle. Birds fight for their territories and announce their existence to each other. The geese take defence positions when I approach, but if I show  that I try to keep my distance while passing by they do not attack. Some of the seagulls have strong nerves. They sit in their nests by the path without moving when I walk by. Others react several meters before I am near and fly up in the air. One seagull became nervous of my scarf while I was placing my camera tripod and started "bombing" although the nest was not close. Luckily the scarf is easy to clean.
