Jäniksen vuosi päättyy pian - The Year of the Rabbit Ends Soon

The juniper stands in the snow somehow spread out; it looks tired. The sky is grey; the sea is grey, still open though; the cliffs are slippery with snow and ice. I notised I have visited the juniper only 40 times although there are 52 weeks in the year.  Apparently I have spent long times travelling, both during the summer and now at Christmas. Next Sunday is the last Sunday in the year of the rabbit and thus my last meeting with the juniper as well. Of course I will probably see it many times when passing by, but this ritualistic and repeated visit will end. There were visitors in my neighbour's studio today. One of them was fascinated by the relationship of inside and outside in the house and photographed the wintery view from the window, like an image for meditation.
