The surroundings of the Archipelago Research Institute on the island of Seili are full of beautiful junipers. It is difficult to choose which one of them I should try to become acquainted with. The old juniper growing next to the wooden museum church that stands alone on the lawn, leaning slightly towards the church, seems an obvious choice. It has surely seen the last inhabitant with leprosy and later the many women treated as mental patients as well as all the visitors in recent years. I could not pass by it without greeting.
