Sadekuuro yllätti juuri kolmen maissa. Ajattelin ensin pidellä sadetta kaikessa rauhassa lintupiilossa, mutta sade oli niin verkkaista, että päätin koetella kamerani kosteuskestävyyttä. Ja hyvinhän se selvisi. Mutta ne mäkäräiset! Katajan juurella on pieni rahkasammalkasvusto, jonka päällä on kyllä pehmeä seistä (loukattuani polveni eilen arvostin sitä erityisesti) mutta se kerää myös kosteutta ja ötököitä. Tiheä pieni parvi mäkäräisiä viihtyi nimenomaan katajan viressä. En ole varma olivatko ne mäkäräisiä vai jotain muita hyönteisiä, hyttysiä pienempiä kuitenkin. Ja ne löysivät tiensä huivini alle
A sudden rainfall came at three o'clock. First I planned to wait it out in the birdshed, but the rain seemed rather soft, so I decided to test the humidity resistance of my camera. And it fared well. But the blackflys! There is a small area of peat moss next to the juniper, soft to stand on (after hurting my knee yesterday I really appreciated that) but it is gathering humidity and bugs, too. A thick small swarm of blackflys enjoyed their stay precisely next to the juniper. I am not sure whether they were blackflys or some other insects, smaller than mosquitos in any case. And they found their way under my scarf.
Jäniksen vuonna, sunnuntaisin kello 15, alkaen 6. helmikuuta, vietän hetken katajan kanssa, joka sijaitsee Harakan saarella, lähellä ns. lintupiiloa ja kuvaan tuon hetken videolle.
