Open doors day in the artists' house; each stop of the scheduled boat brings a new stream of curious visitors. There is a temporary café on the second floor, Mari Rogers organized a poetry walk and I held hands with the juniper at three o'clock as usual. The big surprise was not the amount of people but the uprooted terrain, the result of large scale plumbing work; toppled trees and large pipes lying along the cleared path on the eastern shore. Different things catch the eye of the first time visitor and the one who spends time here regularly. I am staring at the conspicuous big bright blue pipes that have appeared since last week. But I have never noticed that an alder near the juniper grows in the form of a tuning fork.
