A lovely island on the West coast of Ireland, Clare Island, where Fuchsias grow as bushes at the roadsides, but not a single Juniper! It is too humid, they say. I thought gorse could work as a substitute. When they grow on the slopes they look almost like junipers, when not in bloom. But they are really thorny, you cannot hold them by the hand. When you look at the breathtaking views you soon forget that as well as everything else. And next week it is already time to meet the old juniper on Harakka.
